Night shifts, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for ICU patients, including those with respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, cardiac issues, strokes, and multi-organ failure.
• Manage complex medical equipment such as ventilators, IV pumps, dialysis/CVVH lines, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
• Interpret diagnostic tests like EKGs, ABGs, and other lab results to guide patient management.
• Administer medications, blood products, and perform procedures such as central line maintenance, PICC line care, phlebotomy, and wound care.
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, including respiratory therapy and suctioning.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, magnet and teaching hospital environment.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety measures, including PPE use and isolation precautions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the appropriate state (MO or compact license).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in a Medical or Surgical ICU setting.
• Proficiency in ICU-specific skills such as dysrhythmia interpretation, CVP, pulmonary artery monitoring, and ventilator management.
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift and coordinate care within a dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Prior work in a Level I Trauma, magnet, or teaching hospital.
• Strong critical thinking and patient management skills for complex cases.
