Tech – Surgical

Job Title: Tech - Surgical
Location: Newark, DE
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts per week, on-call obligation required

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scrub responsibilities across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations in the cardiovascular operating room.
• Function independently within established protocols to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• Assist the surgical team with instrumentation and supplies during procedures.
• Maintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality and safety standards.
• Support the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment and proper documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with significant CVOR specialty experience.
• Certification from an approved body such as NBSTSA (CST), NCCT (TS-C), or BCLS certification.
• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Additional certifications relevant to cardiovascular surgery.
• Experience working independently within protocol-driven settings.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills for documentation and communication.
