Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organization-wide risk management and patient safety programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
• Investigate, evaluate, and report adverse incidents and patient grievances in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Facilitate patient safety initiatives, including safety rounds, root cause analyses, and failure mode effect analyses, to reduce medical errors and enhance patient outcomes.
• Provide education and training on risk management and patient safety to staff, management, and physicians.
• Collaborate with medical leadership, legal, and regulatory teams to support quality of care and compliance efforts.
• Maintain knowledge of industry standards and regulatory updates, supporting accreditation processes and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska; applicants must have applied for the license prior to start date if pending.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or equivalent within two years of hire.
• Clinical competency maintained every three years.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in risk management, patient safety, or quality improvement within a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience facilitating cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Knowledge of regulatory standards including DNV, TJC, CMS, and CARF.
• Experience with clinical audits, chart reviews, and data analysis related to quality and safety.
• Strong communication skills and ability to serve as a resource and mentor across organizational levels.
