Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical patients in a busy CVOR unit.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, ensuring adherence to safety and sterility protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support off-pump and on-pump CABG procedures, vascular bypass surgeries, and carotid endarterectomies.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgeries, maintaining a 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio.
• Ensure proper documentation of procedures and patient care using the Meditech EMR system.
• Follow unit policies, guidelines, and dress code standards, including on-call responsibilities as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Texas
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in CV surgery, with specific experience in CVOR preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVOR experience
• Vascular surgery background
