Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as needed.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during each shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or standard protocols, documenting all interventions accordingly.
• Identify and address patient and family learning needs and discharge planning throughout the care episode.
• Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel on duty.
• Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure-specific education and competency testing per unit standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large operating room setting.
• Ability to scrub during surgical procedures.
• Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment is required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system is a plus.
• Orthopedic, EENT, and/or vascular surgery experience is advantageous.
