• Contract / 13 weeks / 12-hour day/evening shifts / On-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
• Inspect sterile items for contamination prior to use.
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before surgery begins.
• Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning correctly before use.
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered surgical tools per manufacturer instructions.
• Scrub on various surgical procedures, including specialty surgeries such as sports medicine and trauma, without the assistance of sales representatives.
• Assist nurses with documenting hardware used during procedures and collecting specimens with proper tissue identification.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Surgical Technician or completion of Surgical Technician training.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Surgical Technician preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in specialty surgeries such as sports medicine and trauma.
• Ability to work independently during complex procedures.
