• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 13-26 weeks contract, full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac patients on the stepdown unit, including management of cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and sheath removal
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, post-cardiac procedures, and vascular surgeries
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Follow unit protocols and adhere to safety standards, including equipment management and documentation in Epic
• Float within the hospital or to nearby units as needed, based on patient acuity and census
• Participate in unit orientation and complete required modules prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience on a cardiac telemetry or stepdown unit
• Current and unrestricted nursing license in North Carolina or a compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, sheaths, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management of cardiac drips
• Willingness to work night shifts and 12-hour shifts, with flexibility for float shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Arterial line management, wound care, and charge nurse responsibilities
• Experience with equipment such as Doppler, bladder scanner, epicardial pacing wires, and TR bands
• Proficiency with Epic and other hospital systems
