Full-time, night shifts, 4x12-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, adhering to facility protocols and standards.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergent situations using telemetry and rapid response teams.
• Manage post-procedure care including post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post-cardiac cath, and post-cardiac surgery patients.
• Administer medications, including cardiac, vasoactive drips, and PCA, following strict protocols.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and deliver specialized care for neurological, orthopedic, plastic surgery, respiratory, and gastrointestinal cases.
• Float within scope as needed to meet unit and facility requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU/IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience
• BLS and NIH certifications; ACLS preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response procedures
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and complex medication management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital setting
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Bonus: experience with complex neurology, ortho trauma, or plastic surgery cases
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including every other weekend
