- Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care for a diverse orthopedic and medical-surgical patient population, including postoperative orthopedic cases and trauma cases with fractures
- Monitor and respond to patient needs, ensuring safety and comfort in a private room setting
- Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors to coordinate care and ensure unit efficiency
- Utilize telemetry equipment and troubleshoot alarms, including house-wide Phillips monitors
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform clinical assessments per protocols
- Document patient progress and care accurately in electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in surgical or medical-surgical care, including postoperative orthopedic care
- Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and troubleshooting (Phillips monitors)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with ventilated patients using CPAP, heated high flow oxygen, or similar respiratory equipment
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
- Familiarity with trauma patient care and fracture management
