Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Española, NM
Schedule / Job Type: Day shifts, full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room, including floating between departments and locations within 20 miles as needed.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs during shifts.
- Assist in coordinating patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocols, documenting all actions accordingly.
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel, ensuring quality care standards are met.
- Complete patient education and competency testing in accordance with unit standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large operating room setting.
- Ability to scrub in the operating room.
- Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system (training available if needed).
- Orthopedic, EENT, or vascular surgical experience is a plus.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
