Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, night shifts, 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for diverse age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications or oversee medication administration by LPNs.
• Perform or delegate nursing interventions, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Advocate for patients, monitor responses to treatments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
• Provide health education to patients and their families or caregivers.
• Supervise LPNs and ensure high-quality nursing care delivery.
• Manage trauma patients of all ages and serve as house supervisor during weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
• Communicate effectively via radio with EMS, including 911, ambulance services, and first responders.
• Prioritize patient acuity levels and reassess patient conditions periodically.
• Follow up with patients post-treatment to monitor recovery when applicable.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and stay updated with professional literature.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including safety, HIPAA, infection control, and accreditation standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, staff, and healthcare providers.
• Participate in staff meetings, hospital committees, and continuous education activities.
• Adapt to changing work demands, serve diverse populations, and promote hospital services.

Required Qualifications
• Valid registered nursing license.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to perform trauma nursing and work effectively in high-stress environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior ER or trauma nursing experience.
• Experience working with emergency medical services (EMS) and familiarity with EMS communication protocols.
• Proficiency in using hospital electronic health records and emergency response systems.
