Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, rotating shifts (Monday-Friday, with some Saturday mornings, evenings, or nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by Pathologists, including freezing, cutting, staining, and treating tissues.
• Assist with gross examinations and autopsies as needed.
• Maintain laboratory solutions, reagents, and equipment to meet safety and quality standards.
• Log and categorize tissue specimens accurately, ensuring proper documentation.
• Support quality assurance activities and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.
• Educate new staff, students, or lab assistants on histology techniques and equipment usage.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in a science-related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited histotechnology program within one year of employment.
• Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology within one year.
• No previous experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively with medical teams.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with histochemical reagents, solutions, and equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of special stains and techniques beyond routine histology.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills for effective communication with staff and physicians.
