- Full-time, Day shifts, 4 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a Level I Trauma Center
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from various surgeries, including neuro, orthopedic, vascular, and trauma cases
- Administer medications, including blood products and vasoactive drugs, and manage artificial airways and invasive monitoring (e.g., ICP monitoring)
- Recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and other critical care needs
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient recovery of post-op patients
- Float within scope to pre-op or PACU units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid State RN license (in hand at time of submission; Missouri or compact license preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Critical care experience in an inpatient, Level I Trauma Center environment
- Experience with invasive procedures such as starting IVs, blood transfusions, phlebotomy, and care of ventilated patients
- Ability to recognize and manage dysrhythmias and administer vasopressors
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in neuro, orthopedics, trauma, or transplant units
- EPIC charting system experience (preferred for certain units)
- Prior PACU or Phase I recovery experience
