Schedule / Job Type

• Night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 12 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for medical surgical and telemetry units, including observation of patients with respiratory, diabetic, surgical, palliative, and psychiatric conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient status, including handling respiratory issues, diabetes management, and general diagnostics.
• Perform EKG exams and documentation in Epic electronic health record system.
• Float across various Cone Health facilities as needed, providing flexible coverage and support.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies, including mandatory background checks and education verification.
• Adhere to unit-specific protocols, including responding to various patient needs and conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or eligible for licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to pass an EKG exam during onboarding (candidate must be prepared).
• Willingness to float across multiple facilities as needed.
• Compliance with all pre-employment requirements, including background check and education verification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Experience in medical-surgical and telemetry units.
• Familiarity with Palliative, Hospice, psychiatric observation, and diabetic patient care.
• First-time travel nurses accepted.
