Contract, 12-hour day and night shifts, rotation as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a corrections health unit, including float assignments to Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) units.
• Ensure staff and patient safety within a secure corrections environment.
• Utilize electronic medical records, including EPIC, for documentation and patient management.
• Support oncology patients with active diagnoses and treatments, as well as patients admitted for other medical conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies, managing telemetry systems.
• Perform IV therapy, medication administration, and manage complex patient needs such as feeding tubes and dialysis access.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and respiratory services.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ohio or compact nursing license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to interpret medical data such as ABGs and telemetry strips.
• Strong understanding of IV therapy, medication protocols, and multiple patient care procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in a correctional healthcare setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of complex medical-surgical patient care, including hematology and oncology.
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication system and advanced respiratory management (CPAP, BIPAP, HFNC).
