• Full-time, contract (13-week assignment), night shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a Medical Surgical unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Manage PICC lines, start IVs, and monitor patients with trach and laryngectomy as needed
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including up to a 1:7 ratio if required
• Follow Cerner charting and documentation protocols
• Comply with hospital policies regarding on-call, holiday coverage, and safety standards
• Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience
• Active Illinois nursing license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Experience with PICC line management and starting IVs
• Willingness to learn and care for trach and laryngectomy patients
• Must be able to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contractual period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting system
• Experience working in a Level I trauma center or Magnet facility
• Ability to float within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Previous experience in acute care settings with similar patient ratios
