Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient nursing care within the Progressive Care Unit, including telemetry monitoring and managing cardiac and vascular patient conditions.
• Administer IV drips such as insulin and cardiac medications, and perform IV starts and post-cardiac cath care.
• Float across appropriate units, supporting various patient needs as part of a resource float team.
• Maintain competency in using EPIC electronic documentation system and MAK medication system, ensuring accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure safety standards.
• Adhere to unit protocols including insulin and cardiac drip management, infusion procedures, and emergency response protocols.

Required Qualifications

• NY Registered Nurse license active and on file
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and in good standing)
• NIHSS certification prior to start date
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry or PCU experience
• Experience with IV starts, insulin drips, cardiac drips, and post-cardiac cath care
• Epic electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a teaching hospital setting
• Experience managing complex cardiac and vascular patient cases
• Ability to work independently within a float team setting
