Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients in an acute care hospital setting
- Administer chemotherapy and IV therapies following all safety protocols and handling body fluids appropriately
- Monitor patient responses to chemotherapy and other treatments, recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
- Manage and dispose of cytotoxic spills, care for central lines, ports, and PICC lines, and perform blood draws as needed
- Collaborate within scope of practice, floating within hospital or to affiliate facilities to meet operational needs
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner charting system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology or acute care settings
- Active Illinois RN license in hand or in application process
- Certifications in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy (AHA or Red Cross certifications; RQI cards not accepted)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, port management, infusion techniques, and recognition of abnormal lab values
- Ability to work every other weekend, full shifts, and adhere to schedule requests
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a Level I trauma center or magnet hospital
- Knowledge of handling cytotoxic spills and proper disposal procedures
- Flexibility to float within scope and flexible scheduling considerations

- Facility: Acute Care Hospital with 562 beds, located in Springfield, IL

- Certifications and compliance modules completed virtually, with non-billable hours handled upfront
- Travel and RTO policies apply; candidates must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays and meet licensing requirements
- Candidate must be within 50 miles of the facility or meet local acceptance criteria for travel staffing
