• Full-time, Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Administer chemotherapy and IV therapies following all safety protocols and handling body fluids appropriately
• Monitor patient responses to chemotherapy and other treatments, recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
• Manage and dispose of cytotoxic spills, care for central lines, ports, and PICC lines, and perform blood draws as needed
• Collaborate within scope of practice, floating within hospital or to affiliate facilities to meet operational needs
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner charting system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology or acute care settings
• Active Illinois RN license in hand or in application process
• Certifications in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy (AHA or Red Cross certifications; RQI cards not accepted)
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, port management, infusion techniques, and recognition of abnormal lab values
• Ability to work every other weekend, full shifts, and adhere to schedule requests

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a Level I trauma center or magnet hospital
• Knowledge of handling cytotoxic spills and proper disposal procedures
• Flexibility to float within scope and flexible scheduling considerations
