• Full-time, rotating shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide nursing care for residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting, adhering to physician’s orders and facility policies.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including initial resident evaluations and ongoing observations, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with the healthcare team.
• Administer age-appropriate medications and therapeutics; utilize scientific nursing principles to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate residents and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, fostering understanding and compliance.
• Serve as a charge nurse in the absence of the Director of Nursing, leading and supervising nursing staff during shifts.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of resident care.

Required Qualifications

• Active registered nurse license in Alaska.
• Must provide two fingerprint cards upon acceptance.
• Current flu vaccination.
• Ability to make independent clinical decisions and react calmly in emergency situations.
• Familiarity with long-term care policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
