Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), travel assignment, 13-week duration, working 3 nights per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal heart rates and managing labor progress
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery
- Perform procedures such as cervical exams, IUPC and FSE placements, IV starts, and patient assessments
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective maternity care
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and Centricity systems
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Current certifications: AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS
- Ability to perform procedures including cervical exams, IUPC, FSE, and cesarean deliveries
- Current state nursing license
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in Labor & Delivery
- Familiarity with advanced tools such as fetal pillows, Cook's catheters, and Spinning Babies techniques
- Experience working in a community hospital setting with high-volume deliveries
