Key Responsibilities

• Provide care to adult patients in a Med-Surg with Telemetry unit according to best practices and hospital protocols.
• Perform bedside procedures including NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation.
• Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms, responding promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Work as part of a cohesive team to support patient outcomes and unit efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license on file at the time of submission.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start; telemetry certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years’ Med-Surg Telemetry experience or 3 years of Telemetry experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required, specifically in facilities with 300+ beds or previous experience at an acute care hospital.
• EPIC electronic medical record system experience within the past 2 years.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with peripheral IV placement.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately.
• Flexibility to float occasionally to similar units as needed.
