Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) / CV Pre-Op

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM; on-call stay-late required 1–2 times per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct pre-operative nursing care in a high-acuity cardiovascular surgery setting with a 1:1 patient ratio in a 4-bed unit
• Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, skin assessment, and medication administration
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
• Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using Cerner electronic health records
• Collaborate effectively with an interdepartmental team including CNCs, secretarial staff, and unit management shared with the CVOR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery or related critical care nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with BCMA and electronic documentation systems (Cerner preferred)
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent communication and interdepartmental collaboration skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior pre-operative nursing experience in a cardiovascular or surgical setting
• Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
• Experience floating within scope of practice across related units
