Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Contract | 13–26 Weeks | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for cardiac patients including those with diagnoses such as Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization
• Interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote cardiac monitoring
• Manage cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine, with titration as required
• Perform and assist with specialized procedures including sheath pulls, TR Bands, and Femstop
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery patients
• Float to other units within the facility as needed, with potential to float every shift

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care, pre/post cardiac surgery care, and sheath removal
• Proficiency with port access, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Active ACLS certification required
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact license required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
