Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to an elder population in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility setting
- Support a behavioral health program serving residents with diagnoses including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia
- Complete skilled charting, clinical documentation, and other required charting primarily during the day shift
- Work alongside a medication aide during designated hours, transitioning to independent nursing coverage for remaining shift hours
- Participate in location-specific orientation including facility tour, competency verification, and 1–2 shadow shifts
- Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend) and holiday coverage as it falls within the contracted block schedule
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of South Dakota
- Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR); facility utilizes PointClickCare (PCC)
- Ability to work 12-hour block scheduling on day shift
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in geriatric psychiatric or behavioral health care within a long-term care environment
- Familiarity working with residents diagnosed with dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or related behavioral conditions
