Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit primarily serving adult patients recovering from traumatic injuries requiring surgical intervention
• Monitor and manage hemodynamically stable patients with diagnoses including gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls
• Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment for applicable patients within the unit
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed
• Float to other qualified units or campuses as requested based on census needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current AHA ACLS certification required
• Current AHA BLS/BCLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Telemetry (TELE) competency required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/progressive care experience required for first-time travelers; candidates with 1+ year of recent relevant unit experience will be considered
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a pre-assignment medication test

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for surgical trauma patients in a progressive care or step-down setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a high-acuity environment
