Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Mids Shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
- Deliver care across a high-volume emergency department serving more than 60,000 patients per year
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in a 24/7 staffed environment
- Float to other units and hospital facilities as needed
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and AHA PALS certifications (Red Cross equivalents accepted)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- TNCC certification
- SECURE certification (completed on-site)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (18 months may be considered) with at least 1 year of Emergency Department experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume or Level III Trauma Center emergency department setting
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Comfort and flexibility with floating to multiple units or facilities
