Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Travel Contract)

Contract (13 Weeks) | Onsite | Mids Shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center environment
- Deliver high-acuity care including critical and trauma patients, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 for critical/trauma and 1:3–4 for all other patients
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in a high-volume ED treating more than 60,000 patients per year
- Float to other units and hospital locations as needed
- Document patient care accurately using the facility EMR system (Meditech)
- Adhere to facility dress code (solid navy scrubs) and all departmental policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and AHA PALS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
- TNCC certification required
- SECURE certification (completed on-site)
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Experience working in a high-volume, Level III Trauma Center or comparable acute care setting
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
