Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICUs, step-down, and general acute care floors
- Care for complex patient populations including postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, heart and lung transplant recipients, and LVAD patients
- Support management of patients on advanced mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, IABP, and Impella
- Manage respiratory needs for patients with ARDS, septic shock, pulmonary hypertension, and other critical conditions
- Document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
- May float to the main hospital adult population as needed, utilizing the same policies, equipment, and charting systems
Required Qualifications
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
- Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
- Minimum of 2 years of adult critical care respiratory therapy experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- First-time travelers not accepted for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (ECMO, IABP, Impella)
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
- Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
