Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICUs, step-down, and general acute care floors
• Care for complex patient populations including postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, heart and lung transplant recipients, and LVAD patients
• Support management of patients on advanced mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, IABP, and Impella
• Manage respiratory needs for patients with ARDS, septic shock, pulmonary hypertension, and other critical conditions
• Document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
• May float to the main hospital adult population as needed, utilizing the same policies, equipment, and charting systems

Required Qualifications

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
• Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
• Minimum of 2 years of adult critical care respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices (ECMO, IABP, Impella)
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
• Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
