Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICU settings
- Support care for complex patient populations including postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, as well as heart and lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, IABP, and Impella cases
- Manage respiratory needs for patients with ARDS, septic shock, pulmonary hypertension, decompensated heart failure, and related critical conditions
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to the main adult hospital campus as needed, utilizing the same policies, equipment, and charting systems
- Participate in emergency response activities as required, including potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
Required Qualifications
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
- Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of adult critical care respiratory therapy experience
- No first-time travelers accepted for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, IABP, and Impella
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting platform
- Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
