Respiratory Therapist – Adult Critical Care (RRT/CRT)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICUs, step-down units, and general acute care floors
• Support complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients, including those requiring heart and lung transplant care, durable LVAD, ECMO, IABP, and Impella management
• Manage respiratory needs for patients presenting with ARDS, septic shock, decompensated heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, and hematologic or oncologic emergencies
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Float as needed to the main adult hospital campus, utilizing the same policies, equipment, and charting systems
• Participate in emergency response operations as required during hurricane season (June through November)

Required Qualifications

• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
• Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of adult critical care respiratory therapy experience
• No first-time travelers accepted for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced mechanical circulatory support devices including ECMO, IABP, and Impella
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
• Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
