Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate health care services for patients before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery and that necessary equipment and medications are available for the operating room team
• Record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures and ensure proper handling of specimens
• Provide quality control and ensure patient safety at all times within a 2-bed open heart surgical suite environment
• Participate in on-call rotation, approximately every other day and every other weekend, including night shift on-call coverage
• Provide lunch relief coverage across additional service lines including Vascular, Robotics, General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic, and Plastic Surgery as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of current, acute CVOR experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Proficiency with open heart instrumentation and supplies, TEE equipment, and ultrasound
• Experience with procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker implantation, laser lead extractions, thoracic, and endovascular procedures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures, including TAVR and mitral clip procedures
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Ability to function independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Previous travel nursing experience
