Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Contract | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | 13–26 Week Contracts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias via telemetry and remote monitoring systems
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine
• Perform and assist with sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop procedures; provide pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports; administer blood products as ordered
• Float to other units as needed, potentially every shift; participate in storm, hurricane, and disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring
• Experience with sheath removal, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care required
• Current ACLS certification required; must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
