Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a fully surgical orthopedic unit with occasional medical overflow, caring for patients with diagnoses including total knee replacement, total hip replacement, spinal fusions, and women's surgical overflow
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias; engage Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
- Perform peripheral IV line care and management, as well as phlebotomy as required
- Manage respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Operate and document within unit systems including EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
- Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols; manage wound vacs and surgical drains as frequently required on unit
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Orthopedic nursing experience (hard requirement)
- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) work setting
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with total joint replacement procedures
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
