Travel RN – CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM with on-call requirements (stay late 1–2 times per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular pre-operative setting with a 1:1 patient ratio in a 4-bed unit
- Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, and skin assessments
- Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
- Document accurately and thoroughly using Cerner electronic health records
- Collaborate effectively with an interdepartmental team including CNCs, unit secretaries, and management
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or critical care nursing
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with BCMA (Barcode Medication Administration)
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong communication skills with interdepartmental teams
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a pre-operative cardiovascular setting
- Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment
- Experience with Cerner documentation platform
