Key Responsibilities

• Assess and provide intervention to guide individualized feeding plans for preterm and medically complex infants within a Level 4 NICU setting

• Deliver care using a neuro-protective, trauma-informed, and family-centered model

• Conduct swallowing evaluations and manage dysphagia in the inpatient pediatric population

• Evaluate patient capabilities, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress

• Complete clinical documentation using EPIC electronic health records system

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams; may occasionally support PICU/PICU units based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

• Active Illinois SLP license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

• Demonstrated NICU experience with a strong focus on feeding of preterm and medically complex infants

• Dysphagia experience required

• Must be able to comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical experience as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist in an inpatient acute care setting

• Experience working in a PICU or NICU environment beyond feeding-focused care

• Strong analytical ability to administer and evaluate standardized speech and language assessments

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized charting platforms
