Contract | 13-Week Assignment | 3x12-Hour Rotating Shifts (Primarily Nights; schedule may rotate every 4 weeks if day coverage is needed) | Night Shift: 19:00–07:30 | Day Shift: 07:00–19:30 | Every other weekend required | 2 of 3 major holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit, including management of inductions, antepartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Operate within a unit encompassing OB Triage, LDR rooms, OR suites, and PACU rooms, supporting an average of up to 14 patients daily
- Perform OB triage assessments for third-trimester testing patients and acute triage presentations
- Utilize Epic electronic health records for accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Float to like units within the facility or affiliate locations as needed to meet staffing requirements
- Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities or participate in charge nurse training as directed
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted for submission; must be in hand prior to offer)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience or willingness to train in a charge nurse capacity
- Prior experience with Epic charting system
- Experience in high-risk obstetrics or high-volume Labor and Delivery environments
