Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | 7 Days a Week | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide modified total patient care to general medical/surgical and surgical oncology patients across young adult through geriatric age categories
- Monitor and maintain 24-hour cardiac telemetry using GE Telemetry Monitoring equipment
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including chemotherapy administration (chemotherapy certification required to perform)
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using MediTech EMR
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and interdisciplinary team members to maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 34-bed unit
- Utilize Welch Allyn Vital Signs equipment and adhere to unit guidelines and age-appropriate care considerations
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on a 7-day-a-week operational unit
- Compliance with navy scrub color dress code requirement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Chemotherapy Certification (required to independently perform chemotherapy administration on unit)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Prior telemetry or surgical oncology nursing experience
- Outgoing, team-oriented personality that aligns with a collaborative unit culture
