Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fully surgical unit with a primary focus on orthopedic and joint procedures, including total knee and hip replacements, spinal fusions, hip fractures, and orthopedic trauma, with occasional medical/surgical overflow
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias; participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
• Perform peripheral IV line care and management; provide respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Manage frequent wound vacs and surgical drains in accordance with unit protocols
• Maintain strict isolation precautions and proper PPE usage per facility standards
• Utilize facility systems including EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework; float to other units per census needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state or Compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Orthopedic nursing experience (hard stop requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with peripheral IV line care and management
• Experience with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Current BLS certification; must pass EKG competency testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with total joint replacement procedures (knee and hip)
• Experience with spinal surgery patient care
