Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Stepdown unit for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those presenting with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemaker management, or defibrillator needs
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and administer cardiac drip medications including Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin
- Collaborate with a heart failure navigator and interdisciplinary team using SBAR communication framework
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC and manage medication administration via Pyxis
- Float to other telemetry units within the facility as needed
- Meet weekend requirements of 4 weekend days per 6-week scheduling period
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac drips and demonstrated comfort managing vasoactive and cardiac infusions
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication in an acute care setting
- Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
- Familiarity with heart failure patient populations and care coordination
