Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift, 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, and other neurological diagnoses including epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry

• Perform IV starts and administer medications in accordance with unit protocols
• Utilize EPIC for electronic charting and documentation, following SBAR communication standards
• Float as required to other Medical Surgical / Telemetry areas, which may include COVID care units
• Make up any called-off shifts within the same week or at the end of the contract per unit scheduling policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience
• Minimum 2 successfully completed travel contracts (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Med/Surg Neuro experience required
• Current BLS (BCLS), NIH, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience working in a neuro-focused or stroke unit environment
