Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and pediatric intensive care patients with a 1:2 PICU ratio, 1:3–1:4 IMC ratio, and 1:5–1:6 Peds ratio
- Assist with and support procedures including lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation
- Manage care for patients ranging from post-surgical diagnoses such as appendicitis to critical conditions including septic shock requiring vaso-active drips and mechanical ventilation
- Operate unit equipment including Hillrom beds, GE monitors, ICU Medical Plum 360 pumps, and Med Fusion syringe pumps
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with charge nurses and multidisciplinary team members across day and night shifts to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Pediatric ICU experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Combined Pediatric and Pediatric ICU clinical experience
- Experience with Meditech EMR
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, mixed-acuity pediatric unit environment and function as a collaborative team player
