Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice.
• Coordinate and provide direct patient care activities including nursing rounds, treatments, and facilitation of admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Deliver patient and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes while addressing educational needs based on level of comprehension.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members in implementation of the plan of care.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Proficiency with hospital computer systems and clinical applications.
