Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care (Children's Hospital)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including NICU and PICU populations
- Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures within scope of practice
- Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling preferences will be accommodated where possible but cannot be guaranteed
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
- Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including RTO limits of a maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract period
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Level 4 NICU experience required
- Active Virginia state license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — candidate must hold a license in at least one other state to be eligible for a Virginia temporary license
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiac PICU experience preferred
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
