Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including NICU and PICU populations
• Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures within scope of practice
• Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling preferences will be accommodated where possible but cannot be guaranteed
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including RTO limits of a maximum of 40 hours per 13-week contract period

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Active Virginia state license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date — candidate must hold a license in at least one other state to be eligible for a Virginia temporary license
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
