Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays | Unit operates on a self-scheduling model; every effort will be made to accommodate preferences, though specific schedules cannot be guaranteed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care for neonatal and pediatric patients
• Deliver specialized care to Level 4 NICU patients as a core function of this role
• Support neuro diagnostics functions as applicable within scope of practice
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as required during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the Wednesday prior to the start date — candidate must hold an active license in at least one other state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) certification preferred
