Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-volume unit averaging approximately 2,000 deliveries annually
- Manage care across low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) patient populations, including certified nurse midwife cases
- Utilize unit resources including 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Cross-train to Mother/Baby and may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) within scope of practice
- Maintain BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications throughout the assignment
- Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Experience with both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patient populations
- Experience in Mother/Baby or NICU settings
