Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for medically complex hematology and oncology patients, including administration of blood products, antibiotics, and management of symptoms and treatment side effects
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient response using Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, and bladder scanners
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and provide ongoing education and updates to patients and families
- If trained and credentialed, may be assigned to administer chemotherapy in accordance with unit protocols
- Float to other medical-surgical units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
- Badge in and out at the facility is required for all clinicians
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Dakota or a Compact state (or willingness to obtain)
- Active BLS certification — must be American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
- Experience in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Willingness to float to all medical-surgical units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Inpatient oncology nursing experience
- Hematology and/or bone marrow transplant experience
