Contract (13 or 26 Weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
- Manage and monitor high-risk antepartum patients, inductions, and third-trimester triage cases in a fast-paced environment with an average of up to 14 patients daily
- Participate in OB triage assessment and third-trimester testing for an average of 4–5 patients per shift
- Serve in or train toward a Charge Nurse role as needed per unit requirements
- Float to like units within the facility or affiliate hospitals as needed to meet patient care demands
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license required (pending license accepted for submission; license must be in hand prior to offer)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Willingness to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
- Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior Charge Nurse experience in Labor & Delivery or willingness to train in a charge capacity
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system
- Familiarity with high-risk obstetric patient populations, including antepartum and induction management
