Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday requirement applies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Labor & Delivery unit managing labor, induction of labor, Cesarean section delivery, External Cephalic Version, fetal demise, and intrauterine fetal death cases
- Administer and manage specialized treatments including epidural management, Magnesium Sulfate administration, Pitocin titration, and insulin drips
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
- Document patient care using Cerner (facility is transitioning to Epic)
- Float to support Antenatal, High Risk, OB Triage, and Postpartum areas as needed based on acuity
- Provide timely shift handoff to charge or oncoming nurse, communicating outstanding tasks and pertinent patient information not readily visible in the EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Delaware RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery specialty — no exceptions
- Current certifications required; all certification names and expiration dates must be provided at submission
- All requested time off must be submitted at initial submission; requests made after submission will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner EMR and/or Epic
- Familiarity with high-risk obstetric procedures including External Cephalic Version and management of fetal demise
- Experience floating within OB-related units such as Antenatal, OB Triage, or Postpartum
