Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Acute Leukemia & Hematology)

Contract | Days/Nights Rotating | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Day Shift: 7:00–19:30 | Night Shift: 19:00–7:30
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia and hematological conditions
- Implement and maintain strict infection prevention protocols in a specialized hematology unit
- Monitor patients via telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Administer care for patients with feeding tubes and document all clinical activity using EPIC electronic charting
- Maintain patient falls prevention practices in accordance with unit protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience
- Valid RN license – compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/PICC line management
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification (not required for this role)
- NIHSS certification
- Prior experience in a hematology or oncology nursing environment
