Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint into individualized care planning
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within RN scope of practice, recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with Case Management
• Provide patient- and family-centered education, explaining procedures, treatments, and processes in a clear and supportive manner
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to perform age-specific patient safety assessments and implement appropriate safety measures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across care team disciplines
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and clinical applications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
